UTA facilitates fee processing for new Slovenian toll system - DarsGO

• The new DarsGo toll system has been introduced on 1 April
• It affects vehicles with a permissible total weight of more than 3.5 tons
• Free-flow mode enables barrier-free processing

Kleinostheim – 12 April 2018. The new Slovenian DarsGo toll system launched on 1 April. Drivers of vehicles with a permissible total weight of more than 3.5 tons can then no longer use the old acceptance media, i.e. the ABC toll box and the Dars-Card. UNION TANK Eckstein GmbH & Co. KG (UTA) customers can already collect the new vehicle-based DarsGo On-Board Unit (OBU) from the service stations of Dars, Petrol, OMV and MOL using their UTA Full Service Card.

“Slovenia plays an important role for many companies as a transit country to southern Europe", explains Volker Huber, CEO at UTA. “We are therefore delighted to be able to provide our customers with several excellent ways of preparing for the launch of DarsGo.” A pre-pay or post-pay method can be used to settle toll fees. With the post-pay method, the DarsGo OBU is linked to the UTA Full Service Card at the point of sale, which largely automates the invoicing process. UTA customers looking to complete part of the registration process before the launch on 1 April to save time can already register on the DarsGo web portal. They receive the OBU from a Dars service station on presentation of a collection ticket and a copy of the vehicle registration document.

The Slovenian toll applies on all motorways and expressways throughout the country – a total of 600 toll road kilometres. The amount is based on vehicle class, EURO emission class and the distance covered. Thanks to the free-flow mode, the new DarsGo toll system offers barrier-free toll processing: Vehicles with a permissible total weight of more than 3.5 tons no longer have to stop at toll stations; the new OBU enables automatic invoicing throughout Slovenia. Nothing changes for vehicles with a permissible total weight of less than 3.5 tons – UTA customers can continue to use their UTA cards (Full Service or Full SELECT) at service stations in Slovenia to obtain their toll sticker.
